"Every decently-made object, from a house to a lamp post to a bridge, spoon or egg cup, is just a piece of "stuff" but a physical embodiment of human energy, testimony to the magical ability of our species to take raw materials and turn them into things of use, value and beauty."
INTRODUCTION
Idea is to integrate as many dimensions as possible for examining bamboo based on their physical features. The analysis of bamboo identity, sorts, techniques, raw presence, and various equipment helped me in my studies to appericiate bamboo tangibility. We started by studying a little about the history of bamboo.

Bamboos are a diverse collection of evergreen perennial flowering plants that represent the subfamily of the grass family "Poaceae". Giant bamboos are the largest members of the grass family. The origin of the term bamboo is unknown, although it is most likely from the Dutch or Portuguese languages, which took it from Malay or Kannada.
It is said that the hectare of bamboo plantation can absorb 12 tonnes carbon dioxide. It produces 35% more oxygen than other trees.

WALL CLOCK

I took a split bamboo, scrubbed it with sandpaper, and began bending it for a wall clock, then on the upper part bent it for hanging, then created a border for a crochet design. After this, I took assistance from crochet people who came from Goa; they actually did an outstanding job, and I also assisted them in some ways, learned some new techniques, and fitted the machine. Now you can see the time.

LAPTOP STAND

-01.jpeg)

A question arises as to why people would purchase a costly product (a laptop stand) when we have a suitable and cheap material in bamboo, so I took bamboo and split it, bent it in a common ratio, added small joinery for standing purposes, and put some design on the bottom part to enhance the beauty of the product.
CUTLERY STAND

We need to work on kitchen accessories, so I decided to create a cutlery stand out of bamboo. First, I took a filled bamboo and formed a body out of it, then I took a hollow bamboo and built a ring and scrubbed it properly for hanging cutlery, then I cut a cross with a hacksaw for a stand that supports the whole body, and eventually, I constructed a small ring for holding, which I placed on top of the body, and finally put linseed oil for varnishing the product

LEARNINGS

During my bamboo experience at the Ahmedabad campus, I acquired numerous skills such as bamboo splitting, bending, drilling, cleaning, and, most importantly, the strength and weakness of bamboo.
When I first started working on it, I was wounded several times, but this gives me the strength to continue working. Throughout this journey, Rajvee helped us a lot in various ways, such as how to bend, and he continues to help every student to bend, even the drilling portion, which we already did throughout our material journey, so some of this was simple for us because of prior knowledge, or we can say that experience truly matters.
I still had a lot of issues, such as when I was sanding my bamboo. Normally, I sand my skin into it, but during this time, Bharat bhai assisted us greatly in a variety of ways.
Ashok is guiding us side by side, and he even tells us what 's significant or not. Initially, we are supposed to form a group and work on separate accessories, but later on, he advises us to extend our accessories, which is extremely impressive.
We spent so much time in bamboo that I became obsessed with it while working on it. Everyone is working so hard, and this experience has taught me so much about my peers.
I'm looking forward to working with bamboo and am considering making it my graduation project.
